Greetings, CCSD Members,
Thank you all (I think) for your confidence in me as your next President. I hope to earn your respect and trust during the next year. This office will be a challenge for me but I’m sure I can count on everyone’s support.
As most of you know, I live and work in North County and rarely get further South than Poway. One of the club President’s primary responsibilities is to be the public face of the club at events around the county. This will be difficult for me, so I will be counting on those members who can attend events to represent the club and report back to me on how things went.
Because of my remote location, I will depend on e-mail and the club message board for communication with members and the public. Anyone can register for the message board, so not just club members read and make posts. As the board administrator, I have complete control over content, so if anyone sees inappropriate content there, please let me know right away and I’ll delete it. Recently there has been more traffic, so if you have not visited lately, check it out.
I also have been maintaining the club web site lately, so any suggestions for improvement, additions, deletions, etc. should also be sent my way.
We had our first meeting at Chevy’s October 7th. Please feed back to me your impressions of that location. As long as it works for the majority of members, we will continue to meet there. If a better location can be found, we’ll consider moving there.
There is still some question about the position of Vice President. William Lanum volunteered at the September meeting however he was not at the Fall Classic Show or the last club meeting. There is a possibility that we may need someone else to step up and fill this position. The office of Vice President is perhaps the most important of the club officers. The VP is in charge of our annual show arrangements. Planning for the show needs to begin soon after the New Year in order for everything to run as smoothly as it has in the past. The only requirements are good organizational skills and a willingness to make contact with the various people needed for show operations. If any member wishes to step up for this office, please attend the next meeting and speak up. We need you.
The next order of business is the Christmas Party, to be held December 12th at Black Angus at 5247 Kearny Villa Rd. The party will start at 7 PM. Everyone is encouraged to attend and bring a gift for the always fun White Elephant gift exchange. We’ll discuss the details at the next meeting, on November 4th.
